What is BLOCS?
BLOCS, Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools, is an independent charitable organization supported by individuals, companies, firms and foundations of all sizes in the five county Philadelphia region. BLOCS is committed to giving children access to a high quality, values-based education in Philadelphia area Catholic schools. Children who attend grade school or high school in and around Philadelphia are eligible for BLOCS Scholarships. Through its scholarships, BLOCS is able to grant partial tuition scholarships to students and raise funds for families in need. BLOCS endeavors to increase the number of scholarships distributed each year and bridges the business community and Catholic schools to establish financial assistance to families in need, bolster school infrastructures, and expand educational opportunities for families.
How can I apply for BLOCS?
BLOCS works within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania EITC and OSTC guidelines and uses an outside scholarship administrator to determine eligibility for scholarship grants. The application period for the 2020- 2021 school year is now open.

When will I find out if I received a BLOCS scholarship for the 2020- 2021 school year?
We will be notifying applicants starting around July 15th. If you have not heard back by August 15th, please contact the School Office at 215-357-1300 Ext. 117. Elementary schools receive a determination letter from their school when the school has finished their awarding process.
How are BLOCS scholarship awarded?
Once you have filled out your application, FACTS (a third party) will determine if your family qualifies for need based scholarships. The list of qualified students is then sent to each school.
What will I need to complete the application process?
You will need to submit documents related to you most recent year’s tax return (W2, K1, etc…).
What are the qualifications to receive a BLOCS scholarship?
Families with one dependent must have an annual income of less than $100,608. For each additional dependent, you can make an additional $15,608 per child.
