DONATE A BOOK TO THE LIBRARY!

The library at Our Lady of Good Counsel serves to provide a wide range of materials for staff and students including Books, References, Magazine, and other materials. Presently, the library materials including fiction, non-fiction, Reading Olympics, and Religious Reference are being updated.

The library in the Media Center features a computerized circulation and checkout system. There is also a computerized catalog search to help students to quickly locate a book. With our internet connection students have access to the World Wide Web. The Media Center lab equipped with 30 computer workstations, provide students with internet access including online encyclopedias, search engines as well as access to many educational websites.

The primary objective of the school library at OLGC is to assist students in their quest for learning and support the educational programs of the school.

Reading Olympics

The Reading Olympics competition is the culmination of the program that has teams of students reading books from a prepared list for several months prior to the final event. Each team consists of 8 to 14 students who agree to read from groups of 45 books appropriate for their age and reading level. The book lists are prepared the previous year by interested teachers and librarians.
