Mr. Thomas Meany is thrilled to be teaching music and band at Our Lady of Good Counsel School. He is graduate of the University of the Arts, receiving dual degrees in both music and education. He also recently received a Master of Music from Rowan University. Mr. Meany has taught extensively throughout the Philadelphia area. He has worked for Instrumental Music Programs, the Settlement Music School, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, held adjunct positions at Ursinus College and Widener University and most recently for the Saint Basil Academy. Mr. Meany is a Certified Suzuki Instructor and has recently received three consecutive scholarships from the Suzuki Association of the Americas. He has recently been named a Teaching Artist for Project 440. Mr. Meany plays flute professionally with Opera Philly, the Philadelphia Flute Quartet and the Meany/Simmons Flute and Classical Guitar Duo. In addition to his teaching and performing Mr. Meany is an avid runner, walker, and amateur baker.
